Slash یکی از مشهور ترین گیتاریست های تاریخ راک است که با گروه Guns N’ Roses به شهرت جهانی رسید. او در سال 1965 در لندن متولد شد و در نوجوانی به لس آنجلس مهاجرت کرد. سبک نوازندگی او با ریف های ساده اما بسیار تاثیرگذار و سولوی احساسی شناخته می شود و به یکی از امضا های اصلی موسیقی هارد راک تبدیل شده است.
او علاوه بر Guns N’ Roses در پروژه هایی مثل Velvet Revolver و گروه شخصی خودش با Myles Kennedy فعالیت کرده و در تمام این دوره ها سبک خاص خود را حفظ کرده است. صدای گیتار او ترکیبی از بلوز راک و هارد راک کلاسیک است که در بسیاری از آثار دهه 80 و 90 نقش مهمی داشته است.
از مهم ترین دوره های کاری او می توان به آلبوم Appetite for Destruction اشاره کرد که با آن به شهرت جهانی رسید. سولوی او در قطعاتی مثل Sweet Child O’ Mine و November Rain به عنوان برخی از بهترین سولوی های تاریخ راک شناخته می شوند.
در کارهای انفرادی او نیز قطعاتی مثل Anastasia، World on Fire و You’re a Lie نشان دهنده ادامه همان سبک پرانرژی و تکنیکی هستند.
